FAQ

How much will therapy cost?

During your free consultation, your therapist will discuss fees and affordability. Session Fees are $175.00 for an individual session, and $200.00 for a family or couple’s session. Sliding scale rates are available.

Can I use my insurance?

I take several insurances through Headway.co including Oxford, Aetna, United Health Care and Cigna.

Can I use out of Network Benefits?

Many people have insurance plans with Out of Network Benefits. This means that they can see a practitioner who is not in their insurance plan’s network, and still get reimbursement for services. Out of Network benefits can cover up to 80% of the cost of treatment. If you have Out of Network Benefits your therapist will provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

How long will therapy take?

How long people spend in therapy is very individualistic depending on their goals, and current problems. Some people have very specific goals that can be addressed in a relatively short period of time (six months or less). Most people find that it takes longer to affect real change in their lives and may spend a year or more in therapy. You and your therapist will evaluate your progress and decide together how long you should stay in treatment.

How frequent are the sessions?

Usually, therapy occurs once a week until there is a significant reduction in the symptoms that brought the individual into therapy. At that point therapy often goes down to once every two weeks, and then once a month before completing therapy.

What if I don’t like my therapist or don’t agree with their opinions?

If you think that you and your therapist are not a good fit, you should tell them, and your therapist will help you find a more appropriate match.
